Craig Conrad is to be commended for his efforts to stem the use of drugs and alcohol by students.
I think the time is long overdue for adults to start setting an example. Quit having wine tastings, cocktail hours before meetings; the city and county should stop issuing permits to sell alcohol at special events, and parents stop giving beer parties for their children's 18th birthday.
People who cannot attend a gathering for two or three hours without alcohol should not be there, or maybe they should check into detox. "Cool to drink" may mean stone-cold dead. I am sure the liquor industry would like to see me staked to an ant hill for suggesting this.
