The Hayden Recreation Board is sponsoring Western riding lessons for children Jan. 28 and Feb. 25 at the indoor arena at the Routt County Fairgrounds. The cost is $20 a child. Multiple child discounts are available. Emphasis will be on safety and proper riding technique.

Workshop offers advice about business financing
The Governor's Office of Economic Development and International Trade and the Northwest Loan Fund will host an informational workshop about business financing options. The meeting will be from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Rangely campus of Colorado Northwestern Community College in the Johnson Building Banquet Room, 500 Kennedy Drive, in Rangely.

Community Block grant meeting date is Tuesday
A public hearing previously scheduled for Jan.18 about the 2005-06 Community Services Block Grant has been changed to Tuesday in the Board of County Commissioners chambers of the Moffat County Courthouse. Call 824-8282.

Church youth group
searching for projects
The Youth Group of the First Christian Church is seeking requests for service projects for the elderly, needy or others in connection with the 30-hour famine outreach project. The labor is free, and materials will be provided by the project hosts. Projects will be evaluated by Pastor John Graler and his staff. If you have a project or work that you would like considered, please provide a description of the project and a contact name and phone number. Requests must be received by Feb.15. Notification of project selections will be made by Feb. 20. The projects will commence on Feb. 27. Requests can be made by e-mail at or by calling 824-6024.
