May Harris Perkins, a former resident of Craig, died Jan. 8 in Minneapolis after a lengthy illness.
She was 83.
May was born Nov. 17, 1921, in Ottawa, Ontario, the oldest child of Christina McRae Harris and Eugene Leonard Harris.
She was a former resident of Anoka, Minn., Denver and Craig.
May was a graduate of Syracuse University and the University of Minnesota.
She was teacher, small business owner, writer, singer, loving mother and grandmother.
May is survived by her sister, Jean Sutton; her children and their spouses, Christina and Danny Meyer, Corles and Shelley Perkins, Robin and James Lee; her grandchildren, McRae and Larisa Meyer, Nathan Lee and his wife Jennifer, Andrew Lee and Sarah Lee; cousins, nephews and nieces, and great-nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 31 at the Wooddale Church, Highway 212 and Shady Oak Road in Eden Prairie, Minn.
