9 a.m. The VFW, 419 E. Victory Way, is hosting a "Just Say No" coloring contest for grades one to four and a poster contest for grades five to eight until 11 a.m. upstairs. Crayons, colored pencils and markers will be provided. Bring a poster board or finished poster. Cookies and beverage will be served. A parent must accompany the student. 10 a.m. Annual Snowmobile Avalanche Awareness and Rescue Day. The Craig Snowmobile Club is offering on-the-mountain training. Meet at the Craig Middle School north parking lot. This is a joint training effort between Colorado State Parks and NOWECOS. Open to the public and all snowmobilers. Call Ralph Stewart at 824-4198.


11 a.m. Auditions for the first production of the Craig Performing Arts Project Theater Group will be held at Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave. for the play "Something's Afoot." Everyone is encouraged to audition. Call the library at 824-5116 with any questions.

Noon. The Brown's Hole Homemakers Club meets in the Lodore Hall, Browns Park. Lodore Hall is west on U.S. Highway 40, turn onto Colorado Highway 318 to Brown's Park, drive 50 miles west to Lodore Hall. Call Dora Watson at 824-2251 or Lodore Hall at 269-3000.

5:30 p.m. The Hayden Congregational Church will be hosting a soup supper to benefit Love INC, an organization sponsored by local churches to help those in need in our communities. The cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. There also will be a drawing for an American flag wall quilt. Tickets for the drawing also are available -- $1 each or $5 for six. You don't need to be present to win. Call the church at 276-3510 or call Pastor Janet Babish at home at 276-4203.

6 p.m. The first Mystery Dinner Theatre, "Murder Takes a Cruise," will be presented at the Holiday Inn of Craig. Tickets are $30 a person or $250 for a table of 10 and can be purchased at 826-0199. All proceeds benefit the RAD Afterschool Program.

5:30 p.m. The Moffat County Library Board will meet at the Craig Branch. The public is always welcome.

10 a.m. There will be a public hearing on the Community Services Block Grant 2005-20 in the Board of County Commissioner's chambers of the Moffat County Courthouse. Call 824-8282.

7 p.m. New member and parent orientation will be held at the Boys and Girls Club, 1324 U.S. Highway 40. New members, existing parents and interested community members are encouraged to attend. Call 826-0411.
