First-grader adjusts well

Maybell Elementary School teacher Ken Olinger commends first-grader Trent Vernon for adjusting well to the full-day classroom environment.

"What I enjoy most about Trent is his positive attitude toward learning," Olinger said. "He is excited and ready to learn every day."

Olinger said that Vernon has a very strong work ethic for a student his age and that he is a student who strives to be his best in all subject areas.

"Trent is extremely kind-hearted and polite to all students and staff around him, he is always willing to help out when he is needed," Olinger said.

In addition to a busy schedule at school, Vernon is active in Little Britches Rodeo and has won numerous prizes at recent competitions.

He enjoys hunting, fishing, football and skiing when he gets a chance.

"This young student's determination and hard work are sure to bring success in and out of the classroom," Olinger said.
