Today is the sign-up deadline for The Moffat County School District and Grand Futures Prevention Coalition's new program called Creating Lasting Family Connections. The program is designed to help youths be successful by learning to stand up for themselves and avoid alcohol, drugs and violence. The program will be available to CMS students and their parents at no cost and meets once a week for five weeks from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the School Administration Building, 775 Yampa Ave. Call Westley du Pont at 824-1022 or Cindy Biskup at 824-5752

Noon An open house will be until 1:30 p.m. at the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 W. Victory Way, to honor Commissioners Marianna Raftopoulos and Les Hampton. Refreshments will be served. Call Gena Hinkemeyer at 824-5517.

5:15 p.m. "Ask A Lawyer Night" will be at the Craig branch of the Moffat County Libraries until 6:30 p.m. Free 15-minute consultations with volunteer lawyers are available about civil matters. No consultations are available for traffic or criminal matters. This service is provided to low-income residents on a first-come, first-serve basis.

7 p.m. The Craig Snowmobile Club will meet at the High School Library. All snowmobilers are welcome. Call David Bray at 824-4984.
Wednesday, Jan. 5
8:30 a.m. Mothers of Preschoolers meets at Calvary Baptist, 1050 Yampa Ave., until 11 a.m. The cost of $6 includes breakfast, crafts and speakers. Children are welcome. Call 824-0101.

3 p.m. Quest Bible based activities program for children grades kindergarten through fourth will meet at the First Congregational Church, 630 Green St., until 4:45 p.m. Stories, activities and snacks will be provided. Call 824-3039.

5 p.m. Registration for SHARE Colorado will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 678 School St. SHARE Colorado, a nonprofit organization, is a monthly food distributor that offers grocery packages at half the retail price to everyone.
