Once again, these wonderful people opened their hearts and their wallets to contribute to the KRAI Christmas Media Drive which was held during early December. Besides money, we also received many donations of items to give to more than 160 senior citizens.

- About your opinion piece, “Support VNA, Haven,” I can’t speak authoritatively for Sandrock Ridge, but the last I knew, it started taking Medicaid in October, while, because of an outrageous increase in liability insurance, Rainbow Living Center had to let our Medicaid license lapse. So Sandrock Ridge and The Haven take Medicaid at least.

- Walter and Joy Moyton of Chilton, Wisc., proudly announce the birth of their daughter Payton Rose Moyer. Payton Rose was born Nov. 19, 2004 and weighed 7 pounds and 14 ounces and was 19 inches long. She was welcomed home by her sisters Brittany and Ashley.

- Mary Semro passed away Dec. 29, 2004. She was 83. Mary was born July 14, 1921, in Smithdale, Pa., and raised in Craig. She is survived by her sons Gary (Delia) Semro and Robert (Bonnie) Semro; sisters Ann Hebenstreit, Helen McKee, Margaret Keith and Betty Amone. Visitation was Monday, Jan. 3, and funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Chapel Hill Mortuary in Littleton, Colo.

- The Centennial Chapter of the American Red Cross has received more than $25,000 in spontaneous donations since tsunamis devastated coastline populations in South Asia. “The outpouring of support has been very gratifying,” said chapter CEO Ken Williams. The Centennial chapter serves all of northern Colorado. “We’ve had people walking in with checks, merchants requesting donation canisters, children offering to sell their toys.
