Michael Lausin and Jack Anderson: Solutions Oriented Systems, Craig
We would like to thank the Craig Daily Press for the coverage that it provided for the recent computer and electronics recycling event. We had a better than expected response from our community.
The Moffat County School District recycled 11 pallets of Macintosh computers that, according to Jacqui Grant owner of the recycling company A to Z Computer Solutions, will be sent to a school district in southeastern Colorado. The Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat, the First National Bank of the Rockies in Meeker and the residents of Craig recycled a combined total of 13 pallets of computer equipment and electronics. We also collected a number of cell phones that have been turned over to Advocates in Craig to be used as emergency 911 phones for abused and battered women.
I also would like to thank Donna Watkins and the staff of the Moffat County Library for the use of their parking lot and for getting the word out to their patrons, the various companies who had a forklift on hot standby in case we needed it, Big Bar Storage for secure storage of excess equipment and Holiday Inn for providing lodging for the recycling team.
We hope to hold another event in the July/August time frame. In the meantime, please hang on to your old equipment and keep it out of the landfill.
