Today

10 a.m. Children's story hour is at 10 and 11 a.m. each Thursday morning at the Moffat County Library, 570 Green St. Call 824-5116.

6 p.m. Training sessions begin for the new 4-H dog club at the Moffat County Fairgrounds. Now is the time for new members to register for 4-H. For more information, call leaders Glenda Grandbouche at 824-7986 or Lori Visintainer at 824-4159. Call 824-9180 to enroll in 4-H.

6:30 p.m. The nonprofit Moffat County Child Care Providers Association will hold business meetings on the third Thursday of each month at the First Christian Church, 960 W. Victory Way. An educational or informative program will be afterward. Call Paula Reed, president, at 824-6756.

7 p.m. The Cancer Support Group meets until 8 p.m. in the Visiting Nurse Association conference room, 745 Russell St. Call 824-7641.

Friday, Feb. 18

7:30 a.m. The Boys and Girls Club of Craig will hold play days Friday and Monday. Both days will be free to members, and nonmembers can attend for $10 a day. Club doors open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. Parents are responsible for their children's lunches. A small morning and afternoon snack will be provided. Call 826-0411.



9:30 a.m. The community playgroup for children ages infants to 5 years and their parents meets every Friday until 10:30 a.m. at the Early Education Center in the Moffat County Administration Building, 775 Yampa Ave.

10 a.m. The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering immunizations every Monday and Friday. New clients should bring in their records 24 to 48 hours before their appointments. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by their parents or present a signed permission slip from a parent. Medicaid recipients should bring their cards. Call VNA at 824-8233. A Spanish interpreter will be available Feb. 28.

11:30 a.m. Concerned residents against the proposed Maybell Uranium tailings site will meet at the Golden Cavvy. Call Terry Barrie at 824-2260.

6:30 p.m. Bingo is held every Friday night at the Elks Club, 43 W. Victory Way. Children are welcome if accompanied by parents. Call Frank Sadvar at 824-3557.

7 p.m. The Yampa Valley Pregnancy Center hosts its third annual Dessert Extravaganza at the Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave., until 9 p.m. This year, the dessert is angel food cake with berries. All proceeds go to support the center's activities.

Saturday, Feb. 19.

10 a.m. Girl Scout cookies will be on sale at City Market, Kmart, in downtown Craig in front of KS Kreations and from the Cookie Van in the Safeway parking lot until 4 p.m.

2 p.m. The Caregivers Support Group meets at Sandrock Care and Rehab, 943 W. Eighth Dr. Call Regina Grinolds at 824-3985.

Sunday, Feb. 20

8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. The First Christian Church, 960 W. Victory Way, in Craig will present a series of sermons, "Jesus, Man of Passion through March 27. The Sunday sermon is by guest speaker Mac Burberry and titled "Haitian Christian Outreach." For more information about these sermons or the church, call 824-6024.

10 a.m. Girl Scout cookies will be on sale at City Market until 4 pm.

10 a.m. The United Church of Christ pastors in Hayden and Craig are having a pulpit exchange Sunday. Hayden pastor, Janet Babish, will preach at First Congregational Church in Craig, and Craig Pastor Dave Barnes will preach in Hayden. Worship begins at 10 a.m. at First Congregational Church in Craig and at 10:30 a.m. at Hayden Congregational Church.

1:30 p.m. Bingo is open to the public at the VFW, 419 E. Victory Way. Call 824-7145.

5 p.m. Awana for children ages 3 through grade 12 will meet at Calvary Baptist Church, 1050 Yampa Ave. Call Pastor Rod Compton at824-5222.

6 p.m. Awana for seventh and eighth grades will meet at First Baptist Church, 1150 W. Ninth St. Call Pastor Brian Haynes at 824-5926.

3 p.m. The community is invited to the First Congregational Church in Craig to view the video presentation of the Riverside Church in New York and its pastor, James Forbes. Eighty percent of Americans say they are Christians. They are divided about a critical social, political and theological challenge: how to live with religious diversity in an increasingly pluralistic and polarized world. At the Riverside Church, the Rev. Forbes has a vision of social justice for all, where science, learning and faith coexist under the same vaulted roof with a religiously diverse congregation.
