Today
10 a.m. The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering immunizations every Wednesday. New clients should bring in their records 24 to 48 hours before their appointment dates. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by their parents or present a signed permission slip from a parent. Medicaid recipients should bring their cards. Call VNA at 824-8233.
5 p.m. SHARE Craig registration is until 7 p.m. at St. Michael's Church, 678 School St. For more information, call Karen at 824-7939 or Laura at 824-7939. SHARE is a program that allows participants to buy groceries at reduced prices.
Thursday, Feb 3
10 a.m. Children's story hour will be at the Moffat County Library, 570 Green St. Another story hour will be at 11 a.m. Call 824-5116.
6:30 p.m. The C.O.M.A chair/umbrella meeting will be at the School Administration Building. The public is welcome.
6:30 p.m. A meeting for fifth-grade girls AAU basketball will be held at the Craig Intermediate School cafeteria. Call 824-4229.
Friday, Feb. 4.
5 p.m. Tickets for the annual Kiwanis play go on sale at the VFW, 419 E. Victory Way. Doors open at 5 p.m., and sales begin at 6 p.m. Call Steve Deyo at 824-9441.
6:30 p.m. Bingo is every Friday night at the Elks Club, BPOE 1577, 43 W Victory Way. Children are welcome if accompanied by parents. Call Frank Sadvar at 824-3557.
7:30 p.m. The Knights of Columbus of St. Michael will host a Mardi Gras celebration at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 678 School St. Cocktails begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by dinner, music and dancing until 1 a.m. There will be door prizes and awards for the best costume. Tickets can be purchased from a Knights of Columbus member or at St. Michael's Church. Call 824-5330.
9:30 a.m. The community playgroup for children ages infants to 5 years and their parents meets every Friday until 10:30 a.m. at the Early Education Center in the Moffat County Administration Building, 775 Yampa Ave.
Saturday, Feb. 5
7 p.m. The annual Sweet Adelines show will be held at the Moffat County High School auditorium. Teens will be vying for the Teen Idol title. The audience will choose the winner. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. There will also be a large silent auction beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the high school lobby. Call Ivy Davis at 824-5746.
9:30 a.m. The Craig Snowmobile club is hosting a poker run. The poker run starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Freemen Trailhead parking lot. Prizes will be awarded at 6:30 p.m. at Beef & Peppers Restaurant. Entry fees are $10 for each hand. Profits go to a Craig charity or for a college scholarship. Details are available at local snowmobile dealers, merchant poster displays and at the Freemen Trailhead.
Monday Feb. 7
Noon The Colorado State University Cooperative Extension Office, 539 Barclay St., will host a short program about radon testing. Participants will receive one free short-term radon test kit provided by grant funds from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. If you can't make the program, individual appointments can be arranged. Call Elisa at 824-9180.
Tuesday, Feb. 8
Noon Friends of the Library will have a brown bag lunch meeting the second Tuesday of the month at noon at the Craig branch of the Moffat County Library, 570 Green St. Call 824-5116.
4 p.m. If you are between 8 and 18 and like to fish, you can join the 4-H Sport Fishing club. The Boys and Girls Club of Craig will host the 4-H sport-fishing program. The fishing club will meet from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club on Tuesdays beginning Tuesday. All participants must sign up for 4-H at the CSU Extension building. Participants do not have to be members of the Boys and Girls Club; however, members of the club will be provided transportation from school to the club. Call Robert Winn at 826-0411 or at 824-1187.
Wednesday, Feb. 9
7 p.m. Bingo at Craig VFW, 419 E. Victory Way, is open to the public.
Thursday, Feb. 10
9:30 a.m. The Craig Book Club will meet at Serendipity coffee shop. "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini will be discussed. Call Sue at 824-6798.
6 p.m. There will be a volunteer orientation for anyone interested in becoming a volunteer with Boys and Girls Club of Craig, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40. Volunteers at the club must complete the required orientation. If you have any questions, call Mike Fraher at the Boys and Girls Club at 826-0411. If this date does not work for you, another time can be arranged.
