Mary Eva Lewis (1913-2005)

Mary Eva Lewis died peacefully in her sleep Dec. 5, 2005. She was 92.
Lewis was born in Craig, to Eva and Joseph Biskup, on March 14, 1913.
Lewis grew up with two brothers on a ranch outside of Craig. She was married to Clyde W. Lewis on June 10, 1935. She moved many times with Clyde and his work with Texaco Oil Co., living in Colorado, Wyoming, North Dakota and Montana. Clyde died in 1966. She finally settled in Montana in 1994. Lewis took on many roles in her life, always leading by example. She loved to cook, sew, dance and be with family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Stefanie Lewis; son-in-law, Roger (Sherri) Fitt; granddaughters, Janell (Paul) Mushaben, Lisa (Vince) Hudak, Stephanie Davidson, Jennifer Burris and Jessica Stringham; grandsons, Doug (Carrie) Serbousek, Alan (Marjean) Serbousek, and Brad (Paula) Fitt; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Lewis was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Stefan and Joseph; husband, Clyde; and daughter, Patricia.
Memorial Mass was held Dec. 9, 2005, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place. Smith Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
