Moffat County residents have a rare opportunity to become audience to some of the most influential and important leaders, policy makers, sports figures and other figureheads who are icons of their time. The Craig Daily Press will host a "Distinguished Speakers" series in Craig beginning this month. Each quarter thereafter, the Craig Daily Press will host another well-known or influential person who will talk about issues facing our country, our state and our town.
This month, the Craig Daily Press has partnered with the Craig Chamber of Commerce to offer Chamber members' businesses and their employees a unique opportunity to hear Warren Rustand, former special assistant to President Gerald Ford, speak about terrorism worldwide. Rustand will discuss the roots and history of terrorism, how it is organized and funded, elements of change and myths, in an hour-long presentation for ticket holders. The event, scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Holiday Inn of Craig will be a unique opportunity to view a funny, successful businessman discuss an important hot button topic from a political standpoint.
Businesses or individuals who wish to purchase a ticket may do so by calling Samantha at the Craig Daily Press at 824-7031. Tickets are $20 a person and cover the cost of the dinner. There is no cost for the speaker.
We hope that Moffat County residents enjoy this unique experience, embrace the opportunity to learn and grow within our community and appreciate the opportunity for culture and education from outside of our small town.
We look forward to great speakers in 2005 and 2006, and hope that community members will take this opportunity to attend once-in-a-lifetime presentations by some great American leaders.
Ticket sales are limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are available in advance only and cannot be purchased at the door.
