Softball teams all about family, friends and fun

For Parrish Terry, playing in the coed B League is a way to get closer to his family, while still having fun.
"It's about camaraderie," he said. "Just good athletic fun."
Terry, who has three daughters, plays for Guts Gear. One of his daughters plays, one keeps score and the other one is too young to play.
"If she was old enough, she would play," he said.
For Terry's family the B League has a more relaxed attitude than many of the other leagues. It also offers fun for people who have never played.
"We had three people that have never played before," he said. "We got third place in the season and lost six games by three runs or less."
Although Terry's team lost 10-8 in Monday night's tournament, Terry said they improved throughout the season and had fun while doing it -- something the B League is all about.
"It's a tension breaker," Jeff Willey of Mccandless Animal Hospital said. "We're here to have fun."
Although the Mccandless An----imal Hospital lost, 14-8, on Monday night, won only four games during the season and came in seeded last in the tournament, player Bill Ronis said the team and softball are something he really likes.
"It was nice to look forward to this every Monday or Tuesday," he said.
According to Dewayne Zim--merman, of Zimmerman Con--tractors, the teams and players in the B League are just out to have a good time.
"Most of the people in the B League do it just to have fun," he said. "It's a lot more laid back. It's nice to win, but it's better to have fun.
The bottom line, Terry said, is the B League is more enjoyable than a lot of the other leagues.
"There's not that got to win every night attitude," he said. "It's all about goofing off and having fun."
