For Alison Brockmeyer, Craig is the perfect place for her because of her enthusiasm for the outdoors.
"I'm a die-hard environmentalist," she said.
Brockmeyer, who works for KQRZ, said she loves to camp and hike in the area to get away from people.
"Humans drive me crazy," she said. "I like people as individuals, but as a group, they're dumb."
While people sometimes get on her nerves, overall she enjoys Craig.
"I love the small community, the small-town atmosphere, " she said. You can't find this anywhere. It's a dying value."
She said the only downside to Craig is that some people don't accept outsiders well.
"There are some things about modern civilization they need to accept," she said. "With people who live here and people moving here, they need to blend the positives."
When not hiking, camping or working, Brockmeyer enjoys reading.
"If I had all the time in the world, I could read four books a day," she said. "It's my escape. It's my television."
Brockmeyer is originally from Castle Rock, but moved to Greeley to attend college at the University of Northern Colorado where she majored in English.
Sometime in the future, she wants to become a teacher.
"You can't beat summers off," she said.
In the meantime, she plans to continue working at KQRZ.
"At this point professionally I'm trying to get the new classic rock station up and going," she said. "Other than that, I play it day-by-day."
