The Craig/Moffat County Economic Development Partnership is excited about the new direction of our organization and the future of economic development in Moffat County. Former EDP director Tom Flavin made monumental strides for our organization by streamlining our focus, developing our mission and creating tactics by which to employ our new strategies. Tom Flavin's recent resignation has made room for another qualified economic development professional to take leadership of our organization and make further progress in our community. But the bottom line is that a very committed board of directors and membership have worked hard to make this organization viable, and our commitment will continue despite bumps in the road.
The EDP Board of directors is committed to hiring the most qualified representative for our organization and someone who shares our mission, vision and values. While we have reviewed multiple applications, we also have extended the application deadline through mid-May so that we can be sure that we have as qualified a candidate pool as possible. In the absence of a director, Board Chairman Scott Cook is actively participating in our three working committees: communications, economic development and membership. All three committees are actively meeting monthly and are working on such goals as marketing our organization and meeting the needs of potential new businesses, recruiting and maintaining EDP members and securing future USDA grant funding.
In addition, the board of directors is wholeheartedly committed to maintaining our forward progress with the current organizations utilizing EDP-granted USDA monies, networking with oil and gas professionals nationwide and developing strategic plans by which all of Moffat County can enjoy managed growth.
We encourage interested community members to attend any of our regularly scheduled meetings and to provide input about the direction of our organization. The board of directors meets at 11:30 a.m. the third Wednesday of the month at the Holiday Inn; the communication committee meets at noon the first Monday of the month at the Golden Cavvy; the economic development committee meets the second Tuesday of the month at noon at Serendipity; the membership committee meets the second Wednesday of the month at noon at Serendipity.
The EDP will host a roundtable discussion at 6 p.m. May 10 at the Holiday Inn of Craig to encourage a dialogue between the community and local business professionals and the EDP Board of Directors about the direction the partnership is heading, what we are doing well and what we need to improve. The public is encouraged to attend.
We look forward to the community's continued support in this time of change for our organization.
Scott Cook -- Chairman
Tonya Griffith -- Treasurer
Jackie Roberts -- Secretary
