It takes a very special individual to be a volunteer -- a person willing to sacrifice time and effort to give selflessly for the good of others. Our community has been blessed by a wonderful group of these individuals -- our hospice volunteers and supporters. Should you ever need to be inspired or need to be encouraged by a story of heroism, look no further.
Not only have they successfully led our annual Spring Daffodil fund raiser, but they constantly give of their time and love on a daily basis as they offer care and compassion to our terminally ill neighbors and their families. We would like to take this time to thank and honor them for their dedication and abundant generosity. We are proud to say that the 2005 Hospice Daffodil sale raised more than $18,000 for the program in Routt and Moffat counties. With these funds, our volunteers are able to provide meals, care, medications and support to patients and their families. The gifts of comfort and understanding that they offer help show the dying patients how much their lives here on Earth have been cherished. They spend time with the dying, cherishing the best of life and bringing comfort and understanding to the end. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be part of such a wonderful community with such caring people. On behalf of the Visiting Nurse Association, we thank you for your good work.
