Saratoga resident Betty Gray died April 21, 2005, at Valley View Healthcare Center in Saratoga. She was 80.
Bertha E. Gray was born Sept. 5, 1924, to A. Lyle and Bertha M. (Henderson) Hinton in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Gray graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in 1942. She attended Iowa State College for two years. She married Forrest "Butch" Gray on Dec. 10, 1944, in Denver. They lived in St. David, Ariz., for five years after her husband retired. Prior to Arizona, they had lived in Craig for 31 years. Gray moved to Saratoga in June of 1994 after her husband's death in May of that same year, to be near her daughter. She enjoyed music, TV, sewing, crafts, reading, and most of all, her family. She spent many days driving the Snowy Range Highway and Battle Mountain Highway photographing scenery and wildlife.
Gray is survived by her daughters, Marie (Ron) Kettle of Craig, Norma (Steve) Abele of Quartz Hill, Calif., and Jan (Randy) Westring of Saratoga, Wyo.; son, Bill (Ruth) Gray of Hayden; grandchildren Teresa, Jim, Nathan, Shannon, Billie, Adrian, Wayne, Jake, and Travis; great grandchildren Clayton, Brittanie, Chelsea, Drake, Toran, Alexandra, and Trina; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Zane and Jacky Gray, and Wilma Gray; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Gray was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, her parents and her brother.
No services will be held per Betty's request. Cremation has taken place.
