The Colorado Off-highway Vehicle Coalition is working with federal and state agencies to keep off-highway vehicle users on the trail.

In an effort to minimize resource damage on public lands, the Stay the Trail campaign aims to mitigate irresponsible OHV use.

"In Colorado, we stay the trail," Coalition Chairman Dennis Larratt said in a statement.

"With this campaign, we are moving toward a statewide culture of responsible OHV use that will continue beyond the life of this project," Larratt said.

The Vehicle Coalition has constructed a Web site -- www.staythetrail.org -- that features tips on trail etiquette and trail maps.

The site soon will include updates about trail closures.

Campaign members include the Vehicle Coalition, Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service, Colorado State Parks and the environmental organization Southern Rockies Conservation Alliance.

The campaign kicked off earlier this month.
