Chinese acrobats set to dazzle Craig audience Monday

The Craig Concert Association's next performance features The Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Moffat County High School auditorium.

The group will entertain with the tower of chairs, yo-yo and spinning plate stunts, foot juggling, flying tridents, contortion balancing and bicycle tricks.

Danny Chang serves as producer and director for the group. He has trained since the age of 8 with his family's school, the Chang Family Acrobatic School of Taipei. He has toured with the group for more than 25 years.

His wife, Angela Chang, is the choreographer and costume designer, and she has worked with the group for more than 10 years.

She has an undergraduate degree in Chinese folk dance.

The 16-member troupe has performed in more than 65 countries on five continents throughout the world, including repeat shows at Sea World in Florida.

They combine traditional dance, surprising acrobatics, elaborate costumes and ancient and contemporary theatrical techniques in their exhibitions.

Attendance at Monday's show, an encore presentation of The Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats, is by Craig Concert Association membership only. Current members may renew their membership for next season at the performance.
