Name: Rich Sadvar, M.S., P.T.
Name of Business/Address: Craig Physical Therapy, 535 Yampa Ave., Suite 200, 826-1552.
What prompted you to open your business in Craig? I was born and raised here and wanted to raise my children in our rural community.
How did you get into your line of work? I got my undergraduate degree in education, but through those early years I realized I was interested in the physical therapy field.
What is your philosophy of being a good businessman? If you truly care about what you're doing, it reflects on what you do and how you do it.
How do you define the role of your business in the community? Ask your neighbor.
What is the best part of your job? Truly getting to know my patients. It's not just exercise around here -- we think our patients become a part of our lives.
What is the most challenging part of your job? When creating a new business in town, unfortunately you must overcome the competitor politics that go along with it.
What advice would you give someone considering opening his or her own business? Don't let yourself be convinced that you can't do it. I like the old saying that goes, "Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime."
