Noon Come help make and dine on pork green chili, potato-leek soup, sun-dried tomato dip and more at this month's Healthy Lunch program. The Moffat County Healthy People 2010 initiative invites people interested in learning to eat more healthfully to participate in the Healthy Lunch program from noon to 1 p.m. today at the CSU extension office, 539 Barclay St. Participants will help prepare the lunch meal, receive a recipe booklet and learn more about nutritious eating. The Hayden Recreation Department is sponsoring a special English riding lesson package for today and next Saturday at the Routt County Fairgrounds indoor arena in Hayden. The cost is $50 for the two-day package. For times and information call instructor Becky Thayer at 824-0311.

6:30 p.m. A domestic violence vigil will be on the Moffat County Courthouse step to honor victims. Participants are encouraged to wear purple, a color that signifies support of the vicitims. October is National Domestic Violence Awareness month.

7 p.m. The Boys and Girls Club's "Roaring Twenties Costume Cabaret" fund-raiser will be at the Holiday Inn of Craig. The Craig Intermediate School Science Department is having an Earth Treasure Fair this week during school hours, 201 E. Ninth St. Jewelry, key chains, desk sets and other items made from rocks, minerals and fossils will be available for purchase.
