The mission of the Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief after the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive. Noon Come help make and dine on pork green chili, potato-leek soup, sun-dried tomato dip and more at this month's Healthy Lunch program. The Moffat County Healthy People 2010 initiative invites persons interested in learning to eat more healthfully to participate in the Healthy Lunch program from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the CSU extension office, 539 Barclay St. Participants will help prepare the meal, receive a recipe booklet and learn more about nutritious eating. Register by calling 824-9180 by today. The cost is $2 a person.

The Hayden Recreation Department is sponsoring a special English riding lesson package Saturday and Oct. 30 at the Routt County Fairgrounds indoor arena in Hayden. The cost is $50 for the two-day package. For times and information, call instructor Becky Thayer at 824-0311.
