Noon The Community Networking Group hosts a presentation by Russell George, the executive director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, in Rangely until 1:30 p.m. in the Weiss Center Colorado Room at the Rangely Campus of Colorado Northwestern Community College. 6 p.m. Sagebrush Reading Council is sponsoring a reading and book signing with author Emerita Romero-Anderson until 7:30 p.m at the Moffat County School District's Administration Building, 775 Yampa Ave. Books are $7 and targeted toward young bilingual readers. 4 p.m. Compassionate Friends meets at the First Congregational Church in the library room, 630 Green St., in Craig. The mission of the Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive. 9:30 a.m. A community playgroup for parents with young children is scheduled at the Early Childhood Education Center, 775 Yampa Ave. Call 824-0371.

Noon Healthy Lunch at the CSU Extension Office, 539 Barclay St. where people interested in learning to eat more healthfully are invited to participate for $2 in a workshop in which participants help prepare the lunch meal, receive a recipe booklet and learn more nutritious eating. Call 824-9182.
