Names: Gabriel and Joy Daigle
Name of Business/Address: Wild West Bar-B-Q, 905 W. Victory Way in Craig; 826-0468.
What prompted you to open your business in Craig? We had lived here for six years and wanted to stay in the area. We have family here.
How did you get into your line of work? We've had 14 other businesses, so we had experience. We always barbecue at home, so we thought we could make this a successful business, too.
What is your philosophy of being good businesspeople? The most important thing in any business is how you treat people. Our three ingredients to service are hospitality, quality and reasonable prices. We have a Southern hospitality that people really notice, we don't treat people like numbers, and each customer is special. We think of our customers as friends.
How do you define the role of your business in the community? Wild West Bar-B-Q is a great place to hang out and have some great food. We're pretty involved with our church, and we've grown close to a lot of the high school students who come here regularly.
What is the best part of your job? We love serving the public. Meeting people and making friends is definitely the best part of running this business.
What is the most challenging part of your job? Trying to run a business with just the two of us is a real challenge. Gabriel has back problems, so it's hard to get everything done sometimes. We've had to restrict our hours recently. We're trying to sell Wild West so we can rest a bit.
