6:30 p.m. The Parent's Toolbox -- How to Enjoy Being a Parent, a free parent education and support group for parents of preschool through elementary children, will meet in the boardroom at the Moffat County Administration Building, 775 Yampa Ave., until 8 p.m. This meeting's topic is consistency and how to be respected by your child. 4:30 p.m. The Bureau of Land Management Little Snake Field Office and Northwest Fire Center at 455 Emerson St. is holding an open house until 7 p.m. to celebrate the dedication of their new administration building. Refreshments and treats will be served; activities will include slide shows, display of firefighting equipment, and formal dedication of the new building. There will be a mixer with food, entertainment and giveaways starting from 5 to 7 p.m., please call the Chamber of Commerce to RSVP at 824-5689.

6 p.m. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will have a display of nativity scenes at its meeting house at Ninth Street and Finley Lane until 8 p.m. Call Coleen Fenton at 824-9638 for more information.

7 p.m. The Craig Music Parents will hold a meeting at the music room at Moffat County High School. The meeting is open to all parents. Attendance lets the school administration know that music programs are valued as much as sports programs. Please show support for your band or choir student and plan to attend. Call 824-7036.

7 p.m. Yampa Valley Sewing Guild will meet at the First Congregational Church, 630 Green St. All seamstresses are invited. Call Pat at 824-3324.

7 p.m. The Ski Club is holding a mandatory meeting in the Craig Middle School auditorium for all who have enrolled in the club. Children under 19 must attend with a parent or guardian. Noon. Healthy Lunch workshop is being held at the CSU Extension Office, 539 Barclay St. For $2 people interested in eating more healthfully can participate in preparing eight holiday recipes, receive a recipe booklet and learn about more nutritious eating. Participants must have pre-registered by Nov. 30. Call 824-9182.

Saturday, Dec. 4
6 a.m. The Substance Abuse Prevention Program is hosting a pancake breakfast fund-raiser until 11 a.m. at Craig's McDonalds. Tickets are $3 each and can be purchased from Moffat County School District students who are in third through sixth grade or from the Craig Police Department. Proceeds from the event benefit scholarships, after school programs and DARE. For more information call the police department at 826-2360.

8 a.m. The Moffat County High School Speech and Debate team is hosting a speech tournament at the high school that will last all day. Competing students from various Colorado schools will give performances of interpretations, humorous and dramatic speeches, poetry and debates. Call 824-7036.

9 a.m. The Mite Society of the First Christian Church will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale until noon at the fellowship hall, 960 W. Victory Way.
