Maybell resident Joanne Linda Hough-Heed, died Nov. 21, 2004, at her home in Maybell after a lengthy illness. She was 53.
Joanne Linda Hough was born Nov. 17, 1951, in DeLand, Fla., to Juhan and Maria (Aieillo) Hough.
Hough-Heed was raised and attended school in DeLand. She became an X-ray technologist and lived in Florida until moving to Steamboat Springs in 1989. She married Virgil Heed on Dec. 21, 1998, in DeLand. They lived on his ranch northwest of Maybell. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding horses and anything to do with the ranch, enjoying the company of many friends whom she dearly loved.
Hough-Heed is survived by her husband, Virgil Heed, of Maybell; her mother, Maria Hough, of DeLand; sister, Dorothy (Jim) Reed; brothers Louis (Vickie) and Joey (Carol, and Ricky (Lisa), all of DeLand; nieces Heidi, Jessica, Chelsea, and Bonnie Hough, and Kimberly Reed; and nephews Fred Hough and Ryan Reed.
Memorial services were held Nov. 23, 2004 at Maybell Community Church with Sandy Beran officiating. The soloist was Greg Scott. Selections were "The Gift," and "The Place Where I Worship."
Honorary pallbearers were "All Joanne's Family and Many Friends."
Memorial donations may be made to the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, in care of Grant Mortuary.
Services were concluded at the church.
