Folks recently attended Comprehensive Bereavement Skills Training, completing 30 hours of classroom education at the internationally recognized Center of Loss and Life Transition in Fort Collins, Colo.
This course is one of five required to earn the Death and Grief Studies Certificate, which is accredited through Colorado State University.
It was taught by Alan D. Wolfelt, Ph.D. a noted author, educator, and grief counselor. Founded in 1983 by Dr. Wolfelt, the Center of Loss and Life Transition is a private organization dedicated to furthering our understanding of grief.
Folks works with the Moffat County law enforcement agencies as a lay spiritual chaplain and also works through his church, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, as a spiritual mentor.
