1920-2004
Elsie Jeannette Long of Craig died May 10, 2004, at Family Health West. She was 83.
Long was born Dec. 7, 1920, in San Jose, Calif., to Franklin and Elsie (Evans) Long.
Long was raised in California and in 1940 was married to Woodrow Pershing Thorsen. They lived in Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach over the years. Long attended the Christian Church while in California and she enjoyed being near the ocean. Long moved to Craig several years ago because of her failing health and to be near her daughter.
Long is survived by her daughter, Patricia (William) Hering of Craig; son Jack Thorsen of Cocati, Calif.; grandchildren Billy and Julie; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Long was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Marjorie Meineke and Mildred Ferguson.
At Long's request, no services will be held.
