Oak Creek resident Frank John Salazar died March 8, 2004, at his home.
He was 73.
Salazar was born July 8, 1930, in Rocky Ford, Colo., to Rosario and Damas (Gallegos) Salazar.
The family moved to the Haybro-Oak Creek area not long after Salazar was born. He married Florence June Wilson in September of 1962, in Reno, Nev.
Salazar spent his life working as a sheepherder for Andy Maneotis. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his work.
Salazar is survived by his daughters Shelly Salazar of Oak Creek, and Sherlyn Montgomery, of Yampa; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Josie Guiterrez, Norma Stine, Virginia Hernandez, and Marguerite Gonzales all of Denver, and Evelyn Palizzi of Brighton; brothers Mike and Ben Salazar of Denver; and adopted children Madeline and Harold Martinez of Oak Creek.
Salazar was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Janie and Mary, and brother, Ray, son, Michael, and his wife Florence.
Mass of Christian Burial was at March 13, 2004, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church with Father Robert Whalen and Deacon John Franklin officiating.
Pallbearers were Mike Salazar, Al Stine, Ben Salazar, Nate Citron, John Salazar, and Scott Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were "All Frank's Many Friends."
Services were concluded at the church.
