Kiwanis stunt crossed the line

To the Editor:

To the citizens of Moffat County: This is a letter of apology to the Colorado State Patrol located in the Craig office.

We used a patrol car to depict an officer making an illegal left hand turn onto Victory Way from Kmart without the State Patrol's permission. No one in the office or any individual officer had any knowledge of this stunt. I abused my position at Craig Ford to use this car and for that I am truly sorry. From poor judgment on my part, I have embarrassed the State Patrol. What I thought would be a funny gag turned into something far worse.

I would also like to apologize to my employer, Craig Ford, who also had no knowledge of this stunt.

In closing, I would like to say it was not my intention for this to happen. The State Patrol does a terrific job in and for our community.
