Jada Hastings, a 2003 graduate of Moffat County High School, daughter of Phil and Pam Hastings of Craig, was named one of the University of Northern Colorado's Next Scholars.

UNC honored a group of outstanding freshmen Feb. 29, 2004, at its annual UNC's Next Scholars reception.

This honor recognizes the achievements of UNC freshmen who have at least a 3.5 grade point average for the fall semester.

The reception is an annual event hosted by the Dean of Students Office and Mortar Board.
