Two Craig men were injured Monday morning when the Chevy Metro they were riding in went off the road and rolled in a field.
The vehicle traveled nearly 800 feet off the road before it rotated and rolled onto its top, said officials at the Colorado State Patrol.
The driver, Arnulfo Basurto, 39, suffered minor bumps and bruises. The passenger, Aristzo Basurto, 19, was transported to The Memorial Hospital with a fractured femur and a fractured fibula.
Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Gary Meirose said troopers have not determined how the car traveled so far into the field.
"The last 50 feet, the vehicle started to rotate and then caught and rolled," Meirose said. "There were no braking marks. It appears he was trying to ride it out.
Troopers will complete an investigation and then decide if a citation should be issued.
They will try to determine if the accident could have been prevented, Meirose said.
