Name: Terrianne Wheeler

Occupation: City of Craig employee

When and why did you move to Craig?

I was born in Denver, but I moved to Craig when I was 8 years old. I met my husband at the Little Britches Rodeo dance when I was 16. We married some time later and have two beautiful children, Cassidy, age 5, and Ashleigh, age 3. I really love being a mother. I'd have a dozen more!

Who is your hero and why?

My hero is my youngest brother, Russell Peterson. I admire him because he has a 9-month-old daughter, Mackenzie, battling euroblastoma cancer, and through it all he keeps his sense of humor and cheerful attitude. He can laugh and smile even going through it all with Mackenzie. He is a blessing to her and to all of us really. Their family lives in Craig too, when they are not at Children's Hospital.

What is the most rewarding part of living in Moffat County?

My family and my husband's family live here. They are a big part of our lives and our children's lives. But, people overall in the community are the most rewarding part of living in Moffat County.

What is the one thing that you would change about your life if you could?

You know a person always thinks they would change so many things about their life but, when you get right down to it, I really don't think I would change anything. I have learned so many things from my mistakes and the "bad" parts of life. If I changed anything, I wouldn't be the person I am today.

What's the one thing you would change about Moffat County if you could?

Fewer politics and less of the "good old boys club" would be a nice thing to change. We are all in this life together, after all.

What's the one thing about Moffat County that you hope never changes?

I hope we can grow without losing our small town. I like being in a small town.

What's your favorite food?

My sister-in-law Tina Reid's lasagna is my favorite food. It's the best, and anyone who knows her will agree.

What's your favorite book?

My favorite book would have to be the "Horse Whisperer."

What's your favorite band/singer?

George Strait is my all-time favorite singer.

What's your favorite pet?

My horse "Banner" who died 15 years ago. I still miss him. We have a cat now named Fat Cat, but I wouldn't call her my favorite.

What's your favorite vacation spot?

Bahamas, without a doubt, would be my favorite vacation spot. We've gone twice. My husband's old boss gave a trip to us for Christmas one year. It is just so warm and beautiful, in January no less. When we left Denver, it was 25 degrees below. It was great!

What's your favorite activity in Craig?

The girls and I love the parks, and the girls are in gymnastics now. I enjoy watching them accomplish different skills.
