The Craig Lions Club is bringing the world's biggest big top to Craig to provide fun and entertainment for families.
The Carson & Barnes five-ring circus will be in Craig at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Moffat County Fairgrounds.
Ticket sales began Monday with a telephone promotion offering business and professional groups blocks of tickets. These tickets may be used as a promotional tool, an employee bonus or a community donation. Donated tickets will be offered to local children and adults who might not otherwise be able to attend.
"We want the public to know that this telephone promotion is legitimate and one that the Craig Lions Club is sponsoring," said Christina Currie, circus chairwoman.
Proceeds from the ticket sales will be used for community projects sponsored by the Craig Lions Club. Those include vision screening for children, eyeglasses and eye exams for low-income children and adults, high school scholarships and more.
"The Craig Lions Club does so much for the community," Currie said. "The circus is a terrific fund-raising opportunity because people get to see an amazing show while supporting a local nonprofit group at the same time. It's a win-win situation for everyone."
The Carson & Barnes Circus has been on the road for 68 seasons. It is the largest show under a big top in the United States today.
