Restaurant’s sign ploy not appreciated; spirit of ‘friendly’ competition should be observed

To the Editor:
"Whatever happened to friendly competition?" I said to myself as I was driving down Victory Way.
I had glanced up at the electronic McDonald's sign for the temperature and what I observed, I could not believe. McDonald's had deliberately slammed a fellow business in small town America, showing a sad face for Wendy's customers and a happy face for McDonald's customers.
Is it that obvious that McDonald's is trying to increase their number of customers at the expense of another fellow business?
I personally can't understand why McDonald's would use such an under-handed tactic, but there it is, in all its splendor.
I just think, in my opinion, that is not the way to treat a fellow business, especially in our town.
