Joseph L. (Larry) Witmer, of Camp Hill, Pa., died Dec. 23, 2003, of natural causes. He was 90.
Witmer was born in Harrisburg, on June 24, 1913.
Witmer served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, he was a member of the Carpenter's Union in Colorado, where he was a carpenter for many years; working at the Hayden and Craig power plants in the 1970s.
Witmer is survived by his wife, Alma; three children, Denny E. (Dottie) Witmer, of Colorado Springs, James L. (Flo) Witmer, of Grand Junction, and Jeanne Witmer Amos, of Grand Junction; four brothers, Frank, George, Harry and David Witmer; three sisters, Laura Anspach, Naomi Devin, and Jo Ann Zinn; five grandchildren, Timothy and Thomas Witmer, Roxanne Witmer, and Larry and David Amos; and six great-grandchildren.
Witmer was preceded in death by his wife, Ismay, (a former employee of Roger's Hardware) and a grandson, Rodney Witmer.
