To the Editor:
In view of recent concerns regarding mad cow disease and E coli bacteria, I have a few questions.
Would irradiation rid meat of bacteria, viruses and parasites? If so, should this become a standard practice of meat industries in the U.S.?
With the mass processing and distribution of meat products, would this be a logical protection for the public?
I'm not an expert on this subject, but
