Anniversary of Roe v. Wade sparks new debate

To the Editor:

Again, we are approaching the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in America.

Since this decision of the high court, about 42 million killings of the unborn have taken place in the United States. It is interesting that Norma McCovey, the "Roe," is now campaigning to halt legalized abortion. Recently, President Bush signed into law the partial-birth abortion ban, which is a step on the way to stop the killing of the unborn.

Human life begins at conception, and the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of the life of the unborn child. The Holy Bible tells this truth in a number of places. Psalm 139:13,14 reads, "For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."

Luke 1:44 says, "For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy."

God says, "Thou shalt not kill." Exodus 20:13. However, the good news is God's offer of forgiveness to the one who performs the abortion, and the woman who permits the abortion. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8.

The sooner legal abortion ends

in America, the better off America

will be.
