Perley C. Green died Feb. 27, 2004 at the Eagle Ridge of the Grand Valley Care Center. He was 88.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at the Steamboat Springs Christian Center at 1 p.m. Visiting hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the church in Steamboat. Burial will follow at the Oak Creek Cemetery.
Perley was born May 29, 1915 at Last Chance, Colo., to Chester and O'nita Green. Perley grew up in Last Chance and lived there until 1934 when he moved to Routt County, Colo. Perley married Bonnie J. Howard in 1948 in Routt County. She preceded him in death in 2003.
Perley ranched at Trout Creek and the Twenty Mile Park area. He served as deputy assessor for Routt County for many years and also worked as a guide outfitter. Perley retired from the Steamboat Springs School District where he drove a school bus. After his retirement, he moved to Grand Junction in 1999. He was a member of the Farmers Union and NFO. Perley enjoyed life to the fullest and all of his neighbors.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Green of Steamboat Springs and Billy Green of Craig; three daughters, Connie Wagner of Steamboat Springs, Anita Paquette of Winnemuca, Nev., and Jeanette Carmack of Palisade; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
