Dale Paul Spetter

Dale Paul Spetter, formerly of Craig, died Jan. 25, 2004. He was 68.

Spetter was born May 11, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wis., to William and Susan Spetter.

At the age of 8, Spetter's family moved to Craig. He graduated from Moffat County High School in 1954. Spetter served 30 years in the Navy as a senior chief aviation boatswain's mate. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and the VFW. After his retirement, he worked at the Navy Regional Dental Center in San Diego, Calif. On Nov. 21, 1957, he married Norma Edwards. They had two children. Spetter and his wife loved traveling in their RV and spent summers exploring new camp sites and working as camp hosts.

Spetter is survived by his wife, Norma; son, Howard (Cathy) Spetter; two grandsons, William and John, of El Cajon, Calif.; daughter, Stacy Spetter, of Phoenix; sister, Phyllis (Vince) Bingham, of Craig; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Spetter was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Sue Spetter, of Craig.

Services were held Feb. 7, 2004, at the La Mesa First United Methodist Church, with Jim Seaton, senior pastor, and Dale Conrad, associate pastor, officiating.

Interment was at the Glen Abbey Memorial Park, Bonita.
