Richard Ardell Bacon, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away suddenly from a brain aneurysm Jan. 18, 2004 in Payson, Utah.

He was born June 20, 1961 in Brush, Colo., to Phyllis Doyle and Thomas Bacon. He lived most of his childhood in Craig, where he attended Moffat County High School. He married and later divorced Tammy Green. On July 9, 1988, he married Janet Sperry Bowles.

Richard loved learning and it was evident in his many trades. At the time of his death, he was employed by Ellsworth-Paulsen Construction.

Richard enjoyed tinkering, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, boating, camping, "a good discussion," and being with his friends and family.

His greatest joy was found in spending time with his grandchildren Skyler, Jaden, Matea, Makalya and his buddy Otis.

He is survived by his wife Janet; sons Dale Bowles and Alax Bowles; daughter April Bacon; his grandchildren; sisters Terry (Chuck) Crouse, Sandra (Kenny) Dobner, Gaynell Olsen and Yvonne Bacon; brother E.G. (Debbie) Humphrey; brothers- and sisters-in-law Sharon Sperry, S. Jordison, Greg Sperry, David (Debbie) Sperry, and Richard (Brenda) Sperry; and many nieces and nephews.

Bacon was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Elmer Humphrey, brothers, Thayne and Marshall Bacon and niece, Amanda Sampley.

Services and interment were held in Nephi, Utah, Jan. 22, 2004.
