- To the Editor: This letter is in response to the article about Mike Deyo. Not only did he motivate his players, but he also was an incredible motivator to anyone who he came into contact with. I had the pleasure of just going to school where he taught. He was an amazing human being. He always had a smile on and was there to listen to anyone. I was not one of his players or co-workers and he still made room for me in his life. I could say hello and he knew me — he knew all of his students personally. He had this way of making you feel so important. I loved his sense of humor and the way he could always seem to find the best in everyone. It never appeared to anybody that he had an outside life. His attention was on us, his students. My heart ached as I found out the terrible news, knowing all the lives that he would never be able to touch the way he touched mine. My prayers and my heart go out to his family in their time of need.
