The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States announced that William C.Frye of Craig has achieved All-American status as a post commander.
Cmdr. Frye will be recognized at the 105th annual VFW national convention in Cincinnati from Aug.14 to 20 by VFW Commander-in-Chief Edward S. Banas Sr.
"Frye, commander of Post 4265 in Craig, is one of only 115 VFW post commanders worldwide selected for the All-American post commander.
The criteria for this honor is based on outstanding achievement in membership growth, Buddy poppy sales and participation in other VFW programs that benefit veterans and their communities," Banas said. "The title of All-American commander is one of the most prestigious honors given by our organization."
The VFW assists all veterans and their families in obtaining veterans entitlements and other services. In addition, the organization works for the well-being of those serving on active duty, in the National Guard and the Reserves. Founded in 1899, its nearly 1.8 million members are located in over 9,000 posts worldwide.
