Mary Roland, formerly of Craig, attended the 68th annual Conference of Family, Community, Education Association at Richmond, Va., July 15 to 18.
She was honored as a 60-year member of F.C.E. This organization, formerly called Home Demonstration later called Extension Homemakers, has served rural and now city people through lessons, research sponsored by the Cooperative Extension Service through land grant colleges, such as Colorado State University.
Topics covered were violence in media, nutrition, aids, public speaking, hunger in the world. Roland lives in Grand Junction now and started in Home Demonstration in Steamboat Springs.
Alaska members gave the invitation to host next year's conference.
