Q: What is your occupation, education and family? A: Retired. I have a B.A. in political science and a minor in business administration. The major part of my working career has been spent in the restaurant, hotel, and resort business. I have owned and operated the Redstone Motel and Kentucky Fried Chicken along with being the manager of restaurants for Steamboat Ski Co., Comeo Restaurant and the Holiday Inn. The last years of my career I worked at Colowyo Coal Company. I have two grown children, Fred and Lisa, and one granddaughter.

Q: What is your occupation, education and family? A: Twice retired, I serve as your District 1 County Commissioner. I have a master’s degree in business administration. There is just Bonnie and I, one old dog that we rescued from the pound, two cats that stopped by and never left, and four horses.

What is your occupation, education and family? A: After graduating from high school I moved to Moffat County in 1972. My wife, Brenda, and I were married and have raised three children here. The youngest is 23. In 1973 I founded and began operating a fencing business. The business did well and enabled us to purchase the ranch where we currently live. For the last 19 years I have been with Western Explosives Co., a supplier of explosives products and services.

Q: What is your occupation, education and family? A: I’ve worked at Trapper Mine since 1978. I graduated from high school, went to college for one year, and then enlisted in the military. I’m a single man these days. I have two sons who live in the Denver area, a sister here in Craig, and one in Longmont. I also have brothers who live in other parts of the country.

Q: What is your occupation, education, and family? A: I am 48 years old and have been married to Christine for 26 years. We have four children and one grandson. Currently I’m serving as a deputy with the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, I have been a law-enforcement officer for 24 years. I have 30 years experience as a government employee. I am thankful to have served in the U.S. Army and for the chance to move to Moffat County 10 years ago. I have attended Arapahoe Community College and Metro State College in Denver, Colorado and have an AA and AS degree.

We’re fortunate here in Craig not be subjected to too many incidents of violent crime — at least not the kind where the violence spills into the streets and threatens innocent bystanders.

The local membership of District 22 of ABATE (A Brotherhood Active Toward Education) a motorcycle rider organization has been experiencing astounding growth, says District Representative Craig “Big Lucky” Rose of Rangely. ABATE is a nonprofit, educational, charitable and safety-oriented motorcyclist rights organization. Last year a group of about six met to discuss organizing a more active Western Slope district of ABATE. Now the membership is topping 75 members, and District 22 is looking at splitting into two separate districts. Regular meetings are at 10 a.m. the first Saturday of the month at the Rifle Moose Lodge, 133 E. Third Street, Rifle. The Saturday meeting will profile the Rider Safety program and discuss a pledge run being planned for Aug. 27-28 to benefit the Advocate House, a safe house for battered and abused women in Garfield County.
