Jennifer Gray of Craig accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and will be honored during a campus ceremony this fall at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is a highly selective, national nonprofit honors organization. Founded in 1994, NSCS recognizes first- and second-year undergraduate students who excel academically.
The society was established on the principle that with scholarship comes a responsibility to develop leadership and a duty to perform service.
"NSCS provides the opportunity to students like Jennifer to be recognized for their outstanding academic accomplishments early in their college experience," said Steve Loflin, NSCS executive director. "Jennifer will also have the opportunity to join other high achieving college students in developing leadership skills and a sense of civic responsibility."
Grey, who was co-editor in chief at the Moffat County High School newspaper, Post-Script, will also write for the University of Colorado campus newspaper in the fall.
