Norman P. Muldoon, of Mount Hope Avenue in Somerset, Mass. for 40 years, died Sept. 20, 2003 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. He was 78.

Muldoon was the father of the late Keith Muldoon, of Craig.

Muldoon was born April 6, 1925 in Newburyport, Mass., to Joseph and Alice (Steere) Muldoon.

Muldoon was the husband of Geraldine (York) Muldoon for 54 years. He was a member of the United States Navy and was a veteran of WWII. After the war, he worked for Brayton Point Power Plant, formerly the New England Power Plant, in Somerset as a foreman in the coal yard for 40 years. He retired in 1991. He was a member of the St. Johns Masonic Lodge in Newburyport and the Scottish Rite for several years, and the Palestine temple in Providence, R.I., and the American Legion Post # 0228, in Somerset. He was also very involved in Special Olympics throughout southeastern Mass. for many years.

Muldoon is survived by his wife, Geraldine Muldoon, of Somerset; two daughters, Karen Muldoon, of Somerset, and Kathleen Rymut, of New Bedford; a son, Michael D. Muldoon, of Somerset; a sister, Barbara Muldoon, of Newburyport; two grandchildren, Joseph and Stewart Muldoon; father-in-law Gary T. Rymut, of Craig; and mother-in-law Judy Muldoon, of Craig.

Muldoon was preceded in death by his son, Keith Muldoon, of Craig; son, Kevin Muldoon, and brother, Richard Muldoon.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Elliott, Woodworth, & Rogers Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, Mass. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. All local arrangements are with the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, Mass.
