Sesaria Maria "Mary" Trujillo


Craig resident Sesaria Maria "Mary" Trujillo died Oct. 21, 2003, at the Doak Walker Care Center, in Steamboat Springs. She was 85.

Trujillo was born Oct. 20, 1918 in El Barranco, N.M., to Jesus and Marina (Martinez) Jaramillo.

Trujillo was raised and attended school in the Abiquiu-Barranco area of New Mexico. She married Joe Trujillo on April 10, 1939, in San Juan, N.M. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Craig. Trujillo was a homemaker, caring for her family of six boys and two girls. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, going to church, and taking care of her children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and its Women's Auxiliary and the Hospital Auxiliary.

Trujillo is survived by her husband, Jose Felix "Joe" Trujillo, of Craig; her children Bertha McMillen, of Broomfield, Samuel (Georgia) Trujillo, of Northglenn, George (Darla) Trujillo, of Yampa, Dean Trujillo, of Craig, Kelly (Merry) Trujillo, of Cheyenne, Wyo., Delbert (Christine) Trujillo, of Craig, JoAnn (Jim) Hamilton, of San Jose, and Clyde (Sue) Trujillo, of Loveland; 34 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Solomon (Ermalinda) Jaramillo, of Espanola; sister, Margaret Valdez, of Denver; and a sister-in-law, Sidelia Jaramillo.

Trujillo was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Geronimo, Jose Arcenio, and Avelino Jaramillo.

Services were Oct. 25, 2003, at First Baptist Church with Brian Haynes and David Chambers officiating. The organist was Julia Foster. Selections were "Old Rugged Cross," "Softly and Tenderly," and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" by Wanda Brown. "Amazing Grace" by Nico McMurry.

Pallbearers were Maria McMillen, Annalee Hamilton, Robert Trujillo, Joe Trujillo, Josiah Trujillo, Jacob Trujillo, Zachariah Trujillo, and Demetrius Trujillo.

Interment was at Craig Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Colorado VNA & Hospice, in care of Grant Mortuary.
