Town needs to support return of nursing home
To the Editor:
I have been a member of this community for more than 25 years and haven't said much about community goings on, but now it's time.
Some community-minded members are asking you to vote for a rec center. Mind you, I'm not against a rec center, just against another empty building. There are buildings in this town that could be rebuilt for this reason.
But, there is something else in town that needs the community's help and that is Valley View Manor.
Tracy Behrman and other former staff members are trying to reopen Valley View with some opposition from the state who were told lies by the Mariner boys.
This building is being broken into and damaged and damage is being done from it not being used.
So, if the city council and county commissioners would concentrate on getting some of our citizens back there where they belong instead of something that really isn't needed right now when we have all those things now.
These two ladies have been working very hard to make this happen, I think we all should give them our support.
Let's all help Tracy and the valued staff of Valley View Manor reopen.
Dan Warden,
Craig
