For Craig residents who just can't seem to find the time or creativity to transform their home into a holiday wonderland, the Craig Rotary Club will present the annual Holiday Home Tour Saturday, Dec. 13.
The tour is a way for local home owners to welcome the community into their living spaces to share unique decorating ideas and completed home improvement projects, and a fun opportunity for neighbors and friends to get together, Penny Krump, tour organizer said.
From a solar/earth home to new construction completed this summer, a wide variety of tastes and interests await all holiday tour guests.
"It is so successful because people are very interested in the different design of homes inside, and unique decorating ideas," she said.
This year, the tour will showcase four homes, all built in different time periods, and all with a very different flare.
"Styles may be very different than your own, but you can appreciate others' tastes and their accomplishments," Krump said.
The tour will take place from noon to 4 p.m. and brochures area available at The Kitchen Shop, Timberworks, Sweetwater Trading Co. and Trinkets, Treasures & Trash. This year, tour participants will not purchase tickets in advance, but will purchase a ticket at the first home they choose to tour.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Rotary Scholarship fund and other local community projects.

David & Brenda Lyons
We are Dave and Brenda Lyons. Our dream of owning and building our own home finally became a reality and was completed in July of 2003. We chose this area because of the quiet established neighborhood. We were very involved in the planning and layout of our new home, we viewed a basic plan and custom designed it to fit our wants and needs.
We did most all of our own painting and interior trim work to save on the dollars so that we could have some extras like central air etc. We are thoroughly delighted with our home although we still have some landscaping and a few minor details to "catch up" on. We never thought during the building process that the outcome would be this spectacular and our home would fit "us" so perfectly.
It was a pleasure to share our new home with you and hope this holiday season brings health, happiness and well-being to you and all your loved ones!

Jeff & Valerie Pleasant
(Directions: North on Hwy 13 past by-pass. Turn left onto Cnty Rd. 105. At the top of hill, turn right onto Cnty Rd. 205/Ervin Dr. Go to the fork in road. Turn right onto Dunn Dr. The 3rd drive way on right is the Pleasant home).
Built in 1983 for Jack & Patty May, this house was designed as a solar/earth home & boasts an incredible view of Craig & the mountains.
Although the Mays & the present owners decided not to "bury" the roof, the south-facing exposure & air circulation system (found under the sunroom floor) provide solar heating in the winter & cooling in the summer.
Jeff & Val converted the "pottery" room into a bar/office area & recently installed a door to separate the workshop. Now, these rooms can be closed off from their little ones, Cody & Luke, for safety & privacy.
The Pleasants love their home, but feel that a move into town is in the best interest of their children. For now, they can all enjoy snowmobiling & cross country skiing on their 5 acres!
Welcome to our home. Happy Holidays!
777 Breeze St. -- Paul & Annie Nelson
Five years ago, we moved from Arizona, back to Craig America. We've gone from a 980 sq. ft. cabin to our present 2800 sq. ft. home, with its two-car garage! We've changed out the carpet, exterior doors, light fixtures, wallpaper, as well as redecorated throughout. Also, we've built two storage sheds, laid a concrete pad, landscaped the backyard and painted inside and out. Future plans include updating the deck and roof.
We never imagined filling our home, but managed to do so seemingly claiming every square inch with all six of us. I wonder now how I survived without a pantry!
This home provided a solid foundation for its former residents, the Reishus family, and will oversee many years to come for our family.
